GDPR & Your Rights
Last updated: September 29, 2026
What the GDPR means for you
The General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) governs how we handle the personal data you send through this website. It applies to everyone who contacts us from the European Union, and we apply it to every request we receive. In Portugal it is completed by Law 58/2019.
This page summarises, in plain language, what we do with your data and how you can take control of it. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy covers what is stored in your browser.
Who is responsible for your data
Lisbon Airport Taxi is the data controller. Address: Rua Cidade de Almada 7, RC/C, 2735-569 Agualva-Cacém, Sintra, Portugal. You can reach us about any data protection matter at info@lisbonairporttaxis.com.
We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, so requests are handled directly by the business.
The lawful bases we rely on
Your consent, and the steps needed to enter into and carry out your transport contract, when you request a quote or book a transfer (Article 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Our legitimate interest in keeping this website secure, when we check forms for spam and abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our legal obligations under Portuguese accounting and tax law, once a trip is booked (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not profile you or make automated decisions about you.
Your rights
Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete details corrected.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it for a booking or a legal obligation.
Restriction — ask us to pause the use of your data while a question about it is resolved.
Objection — object to processing we base on our legitimate interest.
Portability — receive the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format.
Withdrawal of consent — withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the processing that took place before you withdrew it.
How to exercise your rights
Email us at info@lisbonairporttaxis.com, saying which right you want to exercise and giving us enough detail to find your request — the name, email address and travel date you used when you contacted us.
We answer within one month. If a request is complex we may extend that by two further months and will tell you why. Exercising your rights is free; we only charge for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
We may ask for proof of identity before we act, so that we never disclose your data to someone else.
Data sent outside the EU
hCaptcha and some of our hosting and email providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. hCaptcha's own terms are at www.hcaptcha.com/privacy.
How long we keep your data
Quote requests and messages that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Booking records are kept for as long as Portuguese accounting and tax law requires, currently up to 10 years. The IP address used to limit repeated form submissions is discarded after 10 minutes.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
